Ramona, a spirited and tenacious 15-year-old girl, lives with her grandfather in Key West in 1908, as his sole caretaker. Once a renowned explorer, Ramona’s grandfather is now housebound because of a worsening illness. When the supply of a special serum runs out, Ramona’s only option to save her grandfather’s life, is to journey to the Amazon Rainforest for the medicine. However, the US Navy & a shady organization called the Authority, are also after the medicine and want to use her grandfather to find it. While relying on old field notes and maps to guide them, Ramona and her Grandfather are thrust on an expedition to find the Fountain of Youth that exists through a mysterious portal called the Veil, hidden and protected somewhere in the vast Amazon. To find the Veil, and a cure for her grandpa, Ramona and her grandfather must survive the merciless rainforest, where dangers lurk throughout the shadowed land.
