Hungry Dingley is a typical Australian seagull with just one thing on his mind. Food. Dingley dreams of making a ‘shmeeze’ – a burger like dish. To make his masterpiece, he relies on food scraps left behind by humans along the beach. But Dingley’s quest soon takes an unexpected turn when a piece of plastic rubbish becomes caught around his neck, making his search for food much more difficult. Set against the beautiful Australian coastline, Hungry Dingley is a heartwarming children’s story that explores the impact of food litter and plastic pollution on our oceans, coastlines and wildlife. Through Dingley’s journey, children are gently encouraged to think about how the choices we make every day can affect the animals that share our coastline. His story is a simple reminder that even the smallest acts of responsibility and kindness can make a difference. Look after your rubbish. Look after our wildlife. Look after our beautiful coastlines.
