Halsey Weigel and Luke Howland are very different people with absolutely nothing in common. Hasley is cheerful and caring, even if she’s prone to not thinking things through. Luke is cynical, distant, and has addiction issues. Still, the heart wants what the heart wants. After growing up in an unstable home and surviving a tragic car accident that claimed the life of his brother, Luke’s every emotion is guilt. As his relationship with his father deteriorates, he’s determined not to feel, not to care. Halsey understands she can’t change his past, but wants to help Luke face the future-even if her friends warn her to stay away. And for a while, their relationship seems to work. Luke is happy again and he’s trying to get better to have a life by her side, but just when it looks like they might get the happy ending they want. Things change again. Maybe there are some people you can’t help. Or maybe you can, but fate has something else in store.
