The Ten Plagues of Egypt are back, and it’s all Maddie’s fault . . .Maddie Jones didn’t mean to unleash the Ten Plagues of Egypt. She was just trying to survive the worst vacation ever with her dad and his annoying new girlfriend, Detective Murphy-better known as Maddie’s sworn enemy. But when her dad drags them to see King Tut’s legendary death mask, Maddie loses her cool and shoves Murphy into the priceless artifact. A strange mist rises from the mask . . . and Murphy breathes it in. Now she’s talking like the ancient pharaoh King Tut and making predictions that start coming true. Then disasters strike. Water turns to blood. Frogs swarm the streets. Darkness falls. The plagues are back, and the worst is yet to come. To stop the final plague from wiping out every firstborn child, including herself, Maddie must solve one of history’s oldest cold cases-the murder of King Tut. The truth has been buried for 3,000 years, but Maddie has no choice but to . . . Solve King Tut’s murder . . . or face her own! Maddie Jones is an edgy Nancy Drew meets the Goonies with a voice like Percy Jackson.
