Book Details

Collage is a medium of Brevity. This theme is represented in the selection of pages and collages made from 5 artists books between 2005 and 2025 by Brisbane based artist, Bruce Reynolds. ‘Brevity’ brings together 50 such collages, using a process that emerges from the historical and the disposable. Destruction is its beginning and everything endures as a fragment, carrying a stamp of time and place. BRUCE REYNOLDS is a Brisbane based artist who grew up in Canberra, whose migrant background is English and Nigerian. His practice enlists materiality to evoke a dialogue between recent histories and the archaic. He has been awarded Art and Architecture awards in 2011 and 2026. 50 collages from 5 artists books by Bruce Reynolds with a preface by the artist. Essay by Roger Benjamin, Torn not Frayed: The Collage of Bruce Reynolds. Interview Bruce Reynolds in Conversation with Caroline Jordan. Text and poem by Nathan Shepherdson, Table Talk at The House of Experimental Beauty and When Did The Cave Walk Out of Itself. Design by Yanni Florence.
