At 35000 feet, every decision bears the weight of potential disaster. When a Boeing 747 is torn apart over the Persian Gulf, that’s exactly what happens. Flying his own jumbo jet with half a plane hurtling towards him, the instinctive and unorthodox Jonny Masters has seconds to devise a plan. What he pulls off shouldn’t be possible – and yet, he does it. With hundreds of lives saved, the world crowns him a hero. But miracles carry a price. In the post-crash investigations, Jonny’s decisions are dissected and his past is quietly scrutinised. Then, he simply disappears. No trial. No headlines. Just silence. Far from the spotlight in the shadows of Colombia, a different life begins. Drawn into the orbit of powerful drug cartels, Jonny’s rare skills make him valuable – and dangerous. Survival takes on new meaning in a world where loyalty is currency and mistakes are fatal. Fast-paced and visceral, Final Descent is a story of instinct, survival and redemption – proving that even after the fall, a man can still rise.
