In a place where fields stretch farther than any lake, a little girl’s love for fishing grows with every Saturday sunrise. She watches the Saturday morning adventures of Castaway King her favorite TV fisherman, as he catches monster northern pike and wily walleyes. She practices her carpet casting with her cat Mouse and dreams of reeling in a real fish someday. Seeing her frustration grow with the realization that she will never be able to go fishing, Mom, Dad, and Grandpa hatch a plan to give Sara the fishing experience for which she’s been longing. On a bright morning filled with mystery and excitement, a special fishing pole, and a lucky hat, they lead her into the hayfield where Grandpa reveals a spectacular surprise. When a rainbow-trout kite leaps into the sky, and glittering fish swim in the field, Sara discovers that sometimes the best adventures happen in the most unexpected places. Rise and Shine, It’s Fishing Time is a joyful, imaginative picture book celebrating creativity, family teamwork, and the magic of making a child’s dream come true.
