1856, Adelaide – As Isaac and Louisa Langdon step ashore from the Emily Catherine at Port Adelaide, they are filled with hope for the future that awaits them in this new land. On the remote sheep property of Tollinga, they carve out a future in a country as vast as it is unforgiving. Through letters sent back to Cornwall, Louisa recounts a life shaped by love and loss, joy and sorrow, births and burials. Then tragedy strikes. As hardship tests the family like never before, the Langdons begin to question whether leaving Cornwall was the right decision. But how much heartbreak can one family endure?
