Marija is a woman haunted by a past she cannot escape. Torn from her homeland and thrust into the opulent but treacherous heart of the Orient, her life becomes a masterclass in survival. She finds herself fiercely divided between the memory of her first love-a bond forged in innocence-and Sultan Bayezit, the formidable and majestic ruler who has claimed her as his wife. In a lavish court ruled by raw passion, ruthless politics, and lethal betrayals, Marija must learn to navigate a world where a single misstep means execution. As dangerous tensions rise within the golden walls of the palace, a quiet storm brews in the shadow of the throne. Marija finds herself fighting a desperate battle to protect her two sons, each carrying a radically different legacy: Milos, a fierce and hardened warrior shaped by the brutal realities of conflict, and Murat, the Sultan’s chosen heir, born into a deeply divided destiny. But at the Ottoman court, walls have ears, and every whisper carries catastrophic consequences. Soon, Marija realizes that the ultimate truth of her heart might be the very weapon her enemies use to destroy everything she holds dear. Faced with impending ruin, she must make a devastating choice. What matters more when the world is burning: the ghosts of past love, her unyielding loyalty to the crown, or the primal instinct of survival itself? Because inside the Sultan’s court… nothing stays buried forever.
