A new neighbour has arrived-but who could it be? Jack and his best friend Quoll love exploring the Australian bush and learning about the incredible animals that live around them. Today they’re setting off on a special adventure to meet the newest animal in the neighbourhood. There’s just one problem: they have no idea who it is. As they journey through rainforests, rivers, grasslands and eucalyptus forests, Jack and Quoll meet some of Australia’s most fascinating native animals. Kookaburra makes them laugh with his famous chuckle. Cassowary proudly shows them the rainforest she calls home. Tree Kangaroo leaps through the canopy, Crocodile waits patiently in the water, Kangaroo bounds across the plains, Echidna searches for ants, Turtle glides through the river and Koala watches from high in the gum trees. Every animal shares one important clue about the mystery newcomer. It might have a beak. It might love the rainforest. Perhaps it has a thick tail, lays eggs, has webbed feet or soft fur. With each page, young readers are encouraged to stop, think and make their own predictions before turning the page to discover the next clue.
