As a National conscript in the Australian Army in 1967-69, the book provides an honest reflection of my service in Vietnam. I was also an unsworn member for Victoria Police before fulfilling the position of Head of School Security for the Victorian Education Department during the period 1974-1993. The book sets out the prevention and detection of school crime resulting in the arrest of many school crooks over some 19 years. These arrests included a number of well-known criminal identities, and one chapter alone has been devoted to Operation Firebug in respect of the Frankston High School fires during 1990 – 1991.
